Perth wedding at the WA Museum Boola Bardip

Fontini and Callum’s wedding day was the most beautiful greek wedding in Perth. They worked back to back in the same office for 6 months before either made a move and the rest was history. I photographed using film and digital photography, something I do for every wedding I photograph. It was a wildly hot Australian February afternoon (40 degrees plus) so I count us extremely lucky the only time we were in the crazy heat was during their bridal party photos at Hyde park which we quickly shot before we were all a hot mess. Their ceremony was held at the stunning Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helen and reception inside the WA Museum Boola Bardip.

I photograph every wedding with a mix of film and digital photography, I love the beautiful colours and timeless feel of film but also the reliability of digital, together they’re a perfect combo!

Andonia and Jules Greek wedding

It was the most beautiful greek wedding for Andonia and Jules; full of love, tradition and sentiment. They found so many ways to merge their culture and remember their loved ones. Andonia and Jules decided to marry in the same church as their parents and grandparents; the stefana crowns they wore in the ceremony were first worn by their grandparents and the olive trees in their reception at Fresh water bay Yacht club in Perth were from Andonia’s Pappous’ farm; all ways to remember loved ones who are no longer here and to remember their greek culture.

The wonderful Lara from White events planned and styled their day and along with so many wonderful vendors including Natural art flowers, Hire society, Micktric events lighting, Creative line and co, plus many more made this wedding day a day never to forget! Their vision was bringing Andonia’s Greek hometown of Ithaca to us and boy did White events deliver. From the beautiful olive trees covering the roof which were from Andonia’s Papous farm to the beautiful seating chart written on greek pots; this wedding reception makes me want to jet off and stay in the Greek isles forever!

Andonia’s wedding video was filmed by us! I photographed their wedding using a mix of film and digital photography and Isaac videoed their day; you can watch their full wedding video below!

The boys got ready at a beautiful airbnb in Cottesloe and the girls at Andonia’s family home down the road. Having the getting ready photographed is such a lovely way to capture your family and bridal party before the day really kicks off.

Every part of Andonia and Jules’ wedding day was so beautiful and sentimental; I loved that at every turn they were remembering their family and culture. Their ceremony was held at the same Greek Orthodox Cathedral as Andonia’s parents and grand parents, and they used the same crowns as her grandparents. Their bridal photos were at Cottesloe Civic centre, where they would spend many many evenings together over the years they have been together.

The vision given to White Events was ‘bring Ithaca to us” and thats exactly what they did! From the olive trees which were sourced from Andonia’s Papous’ farm to the seating chart written on greek pots, the olive oil given to guests, and the greek musicians; this wedding reception was a beautiful representation of Andonia’s greek heritage and to be honest makes me want to run away and live on a greek island!

Perth's best and unique wedding venues

It can be hard to know where to start when it comes to planning your wedding. There are so many beautiful, unique wedding venues to choose from in Perth; all with vastly different vibes and styles. As a Perth wedding photographer I have the privilege of photographing at a huge range of wedding venues so I have put together a list of Perth’s best but uniquely different wedding venues that I have had the pleasure of photographing this year. Whether you're envisioning a romantic relaxed celebration by the coast or a historical backdrop steeped in elegance, Perth and its surround’s offer an array of beautiful and unique options. Assembly Yard in Fremantle sets the stage for a charming and relaxed outdoor affair. The State Buildings in the heart of Perth's CBD offer an unrivalled blend of history and modern luxury. Matilda bay restaurant is a favourite wedding venue down by the Swan river, Coast port beach is Perth’s closest wedding venue to the ocean or if your thinking country the The Hampton’s farm Estate is stunning. Whether your looking for indoor or outdoor, beach, farm or city, I’ve got you covered! Scroll for some of my favourite wedding venues in Perth I have photographed recently and loved!

Winthrop Hall, UWA Perth

The lawn next to Winthrop hall at UWA is perfect for a large outdoor wedding and is really a blank canvas for you to style to your hearts content. If you would like to see more from this wedding at UWA, click here for the full wedding blog.

Postal Hall, The State buildings.

Assembly yard is located right in Fremantle, just south of Perth. As a wedding photographer I love the variety of options it gives you. You could have your portraits photographed in Fremantle, on the beach or even Cottesloe civic centre as thats only a short drive away.

Matilda Bay restaurant in Crawley, Perth.

Right by the water, Matilda bay restaurant is one of my personal favourites. Located just minutes from Perth city and UWA it means there is a few different photography spots to choose from for your portrait’s. Each time I’m there the setting is stunning, the venue staff always amazing and the food- always absolutely delicious. You get the best of both worlds with the outdoor wedding vibe but with the security of cover which makes it easy and fuss free.

The Hampton's Farm Estate in Toodyay is undeniably charming, and sophisticated, making it the ultimate choice for a countryside wedding not far from Perth, located 20km from the beautiful heritage township of Toodyay, only 90 minutes from the Perth Metro area. Every corner of The Hampton’s farm estate home and garden is styled beautifully, right out of a magazine and it is surrounded by picturesque landscapes setting the stage for an elegant and sophisticated wedding in the country side. Lake Como Wedding at Villa Lario Resort

VILLA LARIO RESORT DESTINATION WEDDING IN LAKE COMO, ITALY.

Tiffany and Andy’s Italian destination wedding at the Villa Lario resort in Lake Como was an absolute dream to photograph. It was filled with pop’s of colour, beautiful florals, classic Italian treats and so much fun. The theme of their wedding, was of course their fur baby Taco who flew into Lake Como from New York, along with all their favourite people. They spent the week in Lake Como together with all their friends and family and had a week of festive’s including an amazing race day and their Chinese tea ceremony, a perfect way to all spend some quality time together. Tiffany and Andy shared that they wanted their wedding day to represent who they are. The day began with Spritz’ to help us all cool off and during the ceremony they sung some of their favourite songs from church. During cocktail hour while Tiffany and Andy had their photo’s taken on an Italian boat the guests enjoyed live music and delicious Italian meats and cheeses. Their reception was secretly Taco themed, if you look closely you can see him in some of the stationary. An opera singer disguised as a waiter sung at the reception during dinner and ended with fireworks, a Champagne tower, cannoli and dancing. It was the most wonderful wedding day.

Tiffany and Andy got ready at the Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio on Lake Como and then traveled by boat to their wedding venue on the other side of the lake at Villa Lario. The grounds and gardens at Villa Lario Resort over look the Italian mountains and lake with the most spectacular view. You really cant go wrong when you’re in Lake Como, Italy with such a beautiful venue and wonderful team. CCL events, Honeycomb affair and the rest of the incredible team made this luxury destination Italian wedding one I will never forget.
