Although ive been in the industry a long time, it wasn’t until recently when I got engaged that I REALLY started paying attention to Perth wedding venues and the different options we would have for our wedding day. Did we want DIY or did we want a fully organised and catered for venue? There are so many pros and cons to both, pros for DIY being ANY dream I had could be a reality but the main con is that providing everything yourself leaves a very long to do list for you and your besties.
Here are some of my favourite venues I have worked in as a vendor and scoped out as a newly engagee:
LAMONT BISHOPS HOUSE- PERTH CITY
What a perfect space for a marquee wedding under the stars. The heritage building is surrounded by tall sky scrapers and the food is just divine. You will need to hire your own chairs and tables but thats nothing new for a lot of venues around Perth.
MATILDA BAY RESTAURANT- MATILDA BAY
Situated right on the Swan River in Matilda Bay this is the perfect cocktail wedding venue. Not only is the location perfect, the food and staff are divine and friendly!
FRASERS- KINGS PARK
Right in the centre of Kings park, this venue has a reputation as a venue not to disappoint (and it didnt). The staff here are just fabulous.
ROYAL FRESHWATER BAY YACHT CLUB- PEPPERMINT GROVE
Looking for a blank canvas DIY space? Then these venues are for you!
FRIDAY STUDIOS- NORTH PERTH
A blank New york styled space with industrial finishes and giant old windows is a creative studio by day but can be rented over night for weddings.
THE OLD PICKLE FACTORY- NORTH PERTH
This space was an old pickle factory now converted into a function space perfect for a DIY wedding.
PERTH CITY FARM- EAST PERTH
This is such a versatile DIY space, with the option for a night in the courtyard under the stars or the option of two rooms- the barn or a New York styled room with the capacity for larger numbers.
